Spanish for Connection
A real-time speaking-practice product built around the moment many learners know the grammar and still freeze when it is time to speak.
The product
Working software built on LiveKit + Next.js, designed around speaking confidence and observed learner behavior rather than a traditional fixed curriculum sequence. The product is a useful counterweight to the more abstract AI/evals work: a real user experience with real-time interaction constraints.
The market test
I sourced a school directly and met with a board director plus Spanish staff. In the first stakeholder meeting, I received verbal agreement to a free pilot.
The pilot has not been executed. I may still cancel it because of time constraints. This is not paid traction, a shipped institutional pilot, or proof of school-market fit.
What it proves
- Direct product building in a real-time application stack.
- Ability to move from product idea to working experience.
- Direct customer/stakeholder sourcing rather than synthetic discovery.
- A willingness to keep traction language narrower than the story would be if optimized for fundraising theater.
